Did you know, that there are so often hidden calories in meals we have, that we don't notice or think about.
One of the biggest culprits are dips and sauces. It's when we just plonk the sauce onto our plate, without thinking about the quantity we are placing on our plate. Did you know in just 1 tbsp of Hellman's mayonnaise, there is 100 calories (11g of which are fat!).
Let's be honest, when you're having chips, chicken, fish or whatever else you like to have a dip with - it makes the dish feel complete when you can have guilt free access to a yummy creamy dip! And that's the precise reason I love it! Even better, it is super quick and easy to make!
WHY QUARK?
Quark is officially a cheese, due to its dairy nature. It looks a little bit like Greek or plain yogurt and can be used to substitute yogurts or creams in all sorts of recipes, in order to cut back on fat or calories. It tastes mild and creamy - hence why it can be used in a variety of sweet or savoury dishes.
HOW IS IT HEALTHY
Protein! Protein! Protein! - it has a ton of it (well 3.5g per 30g serving to be precise). Due to the high protein ratio, it means it fills you up faster without being as fattening. Furthermore the high calcium levels mean your bones, hair and teeth continue to keep healthy! Finally, at 11 calories a tbsp, it also has no added salt or sugar, hence why it is considered a healthy alternatives to other cheeses or yogurts.

Serves: 3-4 people. Cooking Time: 10 minutes.
INGREDIENTS
100g plain quark
1 garlic clove (crushed)
1 tbsp lemon juice
1 tbsp ground white pepper
1/4 cup of finely chopped fresh parsley
Salt to taste (optional)
METHOD
Mix quark, garlic, lemon juice, white pepper and parsley together.
Add salt and extra pepper/parsley/lemon juice to taste.
Enjoy as a dip for chips, pitta, vegetable sticks etc. !
Happy Cooking!
