Iced Turmeric and Cinnamon Latte

THE PERFECT ALTERNATIVE TO ICED COFFEE

The perfect alternative to an iced coffee on a warm summers day. Don't get me wrong, I love iced coffee - but I try not to drink caffeine in the afternoon as it affects my sleep - therefore this drink is a great alternative!


Turmeric also is an important anti-inflammatory and antioxidant, meaning it has multiple health benefits. Research suggests that curcumin can help in the management of oxidative and inflammatory conditions, metabolic syndrome, arthritis, anxiety, and hyperlipidaemia. It may also help in the management of exercise-induced inflammation and muscle soreness, thus enhancing recovery and subsequent performance in active people [1]. So overall, it is a great active compound to add into your diet!

Serves: 1. Preparation Time: 5 minutes


INGREDIENTS

  • 1 tsp ground turmeric

  • 1/2 tsp ground sweet cinnamon

  • 1 tsp maple syrup

  • 30ml (2 tbsp) boiling water

  • 200-250ml oat milk (or milk of choice)

  • Ice

METHOD

  1. Add turmeric, cinnamon, maple syrup and boiling water into a separate glass and stir until spices are dissolved.

  2. In your latte glass, add a generous amount of ice, followed by your milk.

  3. Finally, slowly add your turmeric mix on top and mix together.
